I am forever thankful for my mum
and even more so that she raised me to to honor all people
regardless of what their religious beliefs are.
We are Irish Catholic and that is something my mum was very proud of.
However, she understood (and passed on that understanding)
that all people should be safe in their religious beliefs.
No one should have to worry that their families, their children, might be kidnapped, tortured,
or murdered because of what they believe or where they live.
We are one people and what we do to the smallest person, we do to ourselves.
Lord almighty, I pray for peace for all of our brothers and sisters.

Beautiful words and even more beautiful sentiment. Your mother gave you a great lesson. Thank you for keeping it alive. The world needs it.
ReplyDeleteI just looked at this picture, and thought that this woman looked like you. And then, to find out it was your Mom, how wonderful. She looks at peace in this picture, and I love that she may be holding a cup of hot coffee? ; ) Thank you for sharing your heart about your dear Mom.
ReplyDeleteHave a peaceful weekend.

What an honor and tribute to your Mom and her legacy that lives on. And just the loveliest photograph of her, too. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. The world seems to continue getting more and more evil. Or does it just seem that way?
ReplyDeleteWell said, love your writing and yes we should respect all people, young, old, no matter where they are from.

ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. It would appear that evil is only continuing to spread over the world.
