Greening day

Do not love the world or the things in the world.

If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world

- the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life -

is not from the Father but is from the world.

1 John 2:15-16

I think of this one often at this time of year.

In our house we don't do "black Friday"

Instead we do Green Friday.

We walk the woods and we decorate the house with Christmas.

  1. I love your tradition of Green Friday. Such a lovely idea as we don't shop on Black Friday either :)

  2. Good idea! I never shop on Black Friday, too many crowds, lines, and traffic!

  3. Wat a lovely idea. I remember those angel candle spinners, I had one! And I just cannot remember the name of them. But the heat from the candles made them spin around.

  5. Oh I like the idea of Green Friday! I don't purposely "do" Black Friday either - for me personally, it's a contradiction to everything I celebrated the day before. Blessings!

  6. Oh, we don't do black Friday in our house either. It sounds like madness. How nice that you walk the woods and decorate the house for Christmas with the things you find along the way. There is much in nature we come across to do just that. This is a really unique and pretty photo.

Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the gentle night to you.
Moon and stars pour their healing light on you
