Polly put the kettle on

Friday was a profession development day

at school for me so there were no students but I attended an on-line AMS conference with some of my colleagues. I was at work on Friday and Saturday from 11:00 am through 8:00 pm. I did get to see a few workshops that were thought provoking though. And, I won a raffle! I took home some wonderful teas, and a tea mug with a cover and a strainer! I love it. I shared my raffle basket with a co-worker because there was also an adult colouring book, coloured pencils, and a t-shirt that she wanted.

My oldest daughter, Hannah, called to ask if I would come to her house and help her rearrange and decorate. Of course I said yes!

She had these beautiful white chairs down in her basement because she didn’t know what to do with them.
I put them in her office and added a little Asian trunk/table. The art work was done back in the 1940s by her great-aunt.

We rearranged things in her bedroom as well...and added a few things and took a few things away.

At the end of the afternoon we spent some time relaxing in her room talking about poets, favourite books and documentaries we’d recently watched.

It was the best day!

I found a large 5 foot branch on the property at the school where I work and carried it into the classroom.
The toddlers spent a few days balancing on it, crawling around it and becoming friends with it. then I gave them each a crayon and they coloured on it. We also used some glue and torn tissue paper. They have been having loads of fun with it and developing those pincer grips and gaining some pre-writing skills!

One of Tucker’s favourite places to be is on top of the chair that looks out to the front of the narrow lane we live on. One morning I took a picture and played around with it on a few of the apps that I have on my phone.

I’ve been taking a class which runs all day on Saturdays! Yikes! I won’t finish until the end of 2021.

It keeps me pretty busy as it leaves only Sunday to visit with family, clean my house or run errands.

  2. Sounds like a busy week!
We also had a professional development day and this time we only had to have ONE required meeting. The rest was all self care fun!!

    HAPPY WEEKEND!

  3. How neat to win a raffle! Looks like some great gifts, and how nice to share with a friend. Who knew such fun could be had with a log. My son's cat likes to look out the window, too.

  4. You did a wonderful job rearranging and decorating your daughter's home. I like that
trunk table, it's charming. It's nice that you won a stash of teas. I was just thinking
that I needed more teas, and I'm out of my favorite, English Breakfast.
