Friends and family Friiday

We had a little garden party on Monday afternoon. My daughter, Bonnie, came with my grandchildren, Verne and Abigail. My sister was here as well because she had a dr. Appointment in Boston the following day. The garden looked better a few weeks ago. We’ve been having oppressive heat and humidity so the flowers are looking a little ragged. We all had a wonderful time though. I’m glad that my sister got to see the children.

My step-son, Jack, has a summer job on the boat that brings the children out to summer camp at Children’s Island. I went to summer camp there when I was a little girl and his father did as well! His job is to secure the boat to the dock when they land to pick or drop off the children. This happens at the town landing which is just at the bottom of our street. He loves the job and tells us that being out on the water is really cool. When my grandchildren were here he texted me to let me know that he would be in town soon so we went down to the landing to see him. We all got quite a kick out of waving hello to him and watching him do his job. He is required to wear a mask while he’s on the boat.

Over the weekend I got a chance to go for a very long walk. I stopped at one of the little beaches along the way and listened to music on my headphones while I watched the tide come in for about an hour. When my feet started to get wet I left. It was very relaxing.

When I drove my sister in to her Dr. appointment on Tuesday I had to drop her off, drive around the corner to the parking garage, and then go pick her up. I drove right up to the top of the garage and waited the 90 minutes there. The view was beautiful.

My sister’s good friend and her husband were meeting a friend of their’s in the area on Thursday

And they offered to drive my sister and my mum back to Connecticut.

It was so nice of them and it meant my brother and I were off the hook! We ended up going out for a

Bite to eat while she was here.

My sister is in the striped shirt and her friend is in the black shirt.

Honestly, it’s been a trying week. My sister has another long procedure ahead of her next week

That I will be driving her to. After that we will have some answers. Best case scenario it

Is one small spot in her lung and the rest is inflammation. Worst case scenario it has moved

Into her lymph nodes. Please pray for her if you are so inclined.

I feel relaxed just by your description of the beach watching the tide. How fun to have the grandkids. I can't believe how much they've grown. Sounds like a fun job your step son has.

  6. I will certainly pray for your sister. May God bless her with many healthy years ahead.
The time at the beach sounds just like what I want to do, too. Sound of waves, feet in sea water.
Any time spent in the garden is wonderful and even better with family.
    Have a good week!
