Family Friday

Sunday my brother and sister-in-law came over and we sat in the back yard with my sister.

My sister is staying at my mum’s for a few days while she gets a medical treatment.

We ordered fried clams and lobster rolls from a local restaurant and walked around the corner to pick it all up. Then we sat outside and enjoyed a wonderful lunch together.

Joe and I went for a bit of a walk one sunny morning.

The forsythia is in riotous full bloom along the old stone walls in the fields.

It’s so pretty.

My brother-in-law drove my sister here for her treatments
which gave us a chance to celebrate his birthday a little early.



Some of the children have begun hanging signs up in their windows.

It’s cheery to see as I walk to the market.



My church is open for private prayer and reflection.
No services are being held but the doors are open to sit individually and pray.
It’s such a beautiful old church I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a few pictures.

    Lunch in the backyard is something i love to do to....and i love seeing children's art these days too. So touching.

    I'm glad you had a good visit with your sister and brother-in-law. I hope her treatments went well. What a lovely view of the forsythia. The window notes and pictures are sweet. Your church is beautiful. It's nice they keep it open.

    Your church is beautiful. I can imagine how peaceful it would be to sit there and meditate and pray. It's still a bit chilly to be eating outdoors here. Nice to have family visits and I'm glad for you that you were able to see yours. Happy Friday.

    The golds in nature are beautiful. That is a special photo of your brother-in-law with his birthday cake!

    I always appreciate the stained glass windows at my church. I really miss receiving Communion at Mass, but I have been watching Mass on tv.

    What a beautiful church. I love arches and stained glass windows! It looks so peaceful in there. We've had gorgeous days here too though today is very windy. Hope your sister's treatment is going well.

  ~ ~ ~ Abby and Hopie go to the beach. On Saturday my granddaughter, Abigail, asked if she could come to her Hopie's house all by herself. Of course, I said I would love that! Her older brother, Verne, wanted to go to a friend's house and her younger sister, Natalie, is too young to be away from mum for an overnighter. So...it was me and Abigail for the weekend. a basket from the farmer's market

  A basket from the farmer's market. When I was a child my mum always had a fruit basket on the kitchen table.  Fruit was always an option if we were hungry at any time during the day. I had the same when my children were young and I noticed while visiting my daughter last week that she had a basket of apples on her table for her children. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree... I tend to put a basket of vegetables on the table as well.  Root veggies mostly since they don't need to be refrigerated.  I think that they look beautiful and why should fruit have all the fun! My favourite part is that everything (even the basket) came from the local farmer's market. It's so important to support local farmers.  ~ ~ ~ A bit of reading material.  I've been collecting books again... I've almost finished Think Indigenous.  My daughter bought it as a gift for me but decided to read it first. She loved it so much it took her a bit to part with it. I am loving it as much as she did and have put it down almost all the way through  because I don't want it to be over.  Macro tex
