walking wild Wednesday

This is the day the Lord has made
Today
14 November, 2018
On my mind
Yesterday just after my husband had put his son on the train but before it had pulled out of the station
he pulled a woman back as she tried to jump into the oncoming train.
So very sad and frightening.
What’s going on outdoors?
It's not quite dawn and still dark.
the sun will fill the sky with it's beautiful warmth and light and colour.
From the kitchen
Meatloaf and delicious baked red potatoes with plenty of butter and green beans
and gingersnaps for dinner this evening.
Right now there is coffee.
Right now there is coffee.
Thanks and praises
My sister, who is receiving treatment for a return of her colon cancer
will be heading to Washington DC to address the Senate about taxing
the scanning machines they use in her treatment.
She will be representing her state.
Joys and sorrows
Joy for the fact that my sister is alive today to be able to do this.
It has been a very difficult year for her.
I sorrow at the incredible sadness of a woman trying to jump in front of a moving train.
I rejoice in the fact that my husband was there to save her.
What I’m wearing
My lucky picture taking shirt.
It's picture day at work.
My lucky picture taking shirt.
It's picture day at work.
What I’m creating
a peaceful life
I am hoping
For health in the new year.
I am reading
mostly the bible
These are a few of my favorite things
Being with my family and friends
Plans for this week
I would like to do all my homework and get ahead on some of next weeks as well.
Around the house
I have some Autumn decorations out. I would love to take out some of the Christmas things
but it's much too early....even for me.
Lessons
slow down…slow down….slow down
Prayers
For the poor woman who jumped in front of the train.
For the poor woman who jumped in front of the train.
A picture is worth a thousand words
After I dropped my husband off at Wonderland station I stopped
to photograph the storm over the ocean before turning toward home.
Yep, your view is pretty similar to ours when we make our way to the beach. Cold, raw, stunning in its abandoned aloneness ...
ReplyDeleteYour husband is a quick thinker and a hero! I sure hope this lady will be able to get some help. Maybe someone saving her will change her mind about things, wouldn't that be wonderful! Your sister is doing such a good thing!! Hopefully this will be something very good that comes from such a bad thing. Your meals always make my mouth water. By any change are you familiar with a blog that was called "Hip Chick"? She shut her blog down years ago, but you sure remind me of her.
