finding Sabbath

t

Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,

that we may sing for joy

and be glad all our days.

Psalm 90:14

~ ~ ~

The morning is my favorite time of day.

I ordinarily arise before dawn to put the kettle on

putting some dishes away in the cupboard

or folding an errant napkin while I wait for the trill signal of it's whistle.

Fragrant steam rises from the teapot as I pour

and I like the way the water sounds

Everything else quiet in the pre-dawn twilight.

Yesterday I bought a new mug because the handle of my old one broke.

The design reminds me of the waves on the sea outside  my window.

  2. Love the new mug!

It's early here, still dark. I am listening to the coffee maker.

  3. I'm not a morning person, but my favorite thing to do on Sunday mornings is to read through some Scripture before getting ready for church. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Coffee people here (although I love a good cup of tea at other times of day). We have our own secret "house" blend - 3 different coffees blended together in one canister. I love waking up to the smell of it brewing and then sitting down with a cup and my Bible.

  5. Love the picture your words bring to mind. The quiet, the tea. I would say I'm a morning person too. Even though there are days that I'd love to just stay in bed anymore...Mr. Furbaby prefers to be up before dawn. His schedule varies but it is always early. I've been in the habit since retired of early morning Bible reading to start my day and a cup of coffee. I'm with you, the early morning; especially in the Springtime are my favorite. There is just something about mugs that attract. I like the colorfulness of the blue on yours. :)

  8. Your mornings sound a lot like mine, putting the dishes away while I wait for the water to boil to make my coffee. The mornings are my favorite time of day. Enjoy your new mug.
