days of giving thanks

1
I am thankful that I am able to live so close to the beach.

2
i am thankful for my husband, Joe,

who I love with all my heart.

We have known one another since we were 11 years old.

We met playing truth or dare during recess behind the 6th grade elementary school.

He dared to kiss me.

We have circled around a lot since then...

I've zigged and he's zagged...

we've looped and curly-cued and even done a few straight lines

to get to where we are now.

He's been my inspiration, my guiding star, my best friend, my husband

3

I am thankful for my daughter, Hannah.

She is getting her masters at Salem University

and working so hard.

She was the first person that I ever loved more than I love myself.

4

I am thankful for my daughter Bonnie.

She is so sweet and loving and kind.

And she and her fiance, Dan, gave us Verne!

5

I am so thankful for Verne!

My beautiful grandson!

I am absolutely head over heels in love with him!

I met my hubby in grad school but we didnt get married until my 3rd year of teaching, when i was 30. But like you, he has been my best friend for 28 years 27 of them as husband.

  2. Lots to be thankful for ... me, too! I also have a wonderful, godly husband, 4 great kids, and 13 grandchildren, some of them married with little ones. But I have to tell you there is a part of me that envies you at your stage of life. I remember that first grandson and how he was the center of my world. It was so easy to pour into him since he was the only one. I love all of my family and am indeed blessed, but it's hard to have enough time for each one. So enjoy every minute of it!

  5. Sometimes I envy your living so close to the beach! We did move to a landlocked state (TN) several years ago, but there are a lot of lakes and rivers here. Not quite the same, but nice in their own way.

What a sweet tribute to your family, especially your husband!

  6. What great faves this week! Yes, family is most precious! (and Verne is adorable!)
I too am thankful to live where I can drive just a few miles and be at the beach. It's a blessing!
