It's been nice having the light later in the day. I've been catching the sunset on my way home from work and it's just beautiful. The purple Oxalis is blooming on my bedside table. It looks so pretty in the sunlight through the window. Tucker has been taking advantage of the rather gloomy days  we've had for a bit of a cat nap on my bed. We had the boys last weekend and took advantage of a respite  from the cold for a walk on the beach.... Jack is surveying the land and the sea I didn't get a chance to see my grandson Verne this week  but my daughter sent me this picture on St. Patrick's day. SKY WATCH FRIDAY

the random Today is the anniversary of John and Yoko. One of my very favorite couples ever. Oh My Love the good I walked the beach over the weekend and gathered some treasures. Tucker was pretty happy to sit in the midst of it all. the fun I made what I think looks like a sailboat on a big wave... there are some who think it looks like a strange piece of wood and some rope... but they have no imagination and shall remain nameless. The good, the random, the fun

Happy St. Pat's day to ye and may the luck o' the Irish be with you and yours yellow flowers on the kitchen table Over the weekend I picked up some yellow flowers and I've been enjoying them dancing in the sunlight over the kitchen table as I drink my morning tea ~ Max the Wonder Dog My son-in-law's dog Max died on Monday He was 14 year's old and had lived a good life... very sad though and he will be greatly missed Family dogs are missed as old uncles or aunts are we speak of them as if they were grand old characters in our families and we remember them long into our old age... My mum still remembers how her father would send their dog, Buttons, up onto her bed in the morning. ~ sunrise after Stella Tuesday we had a mega-storm Stella come in.... We were spared much of the snow they called for What we got was very high coastal tides, ferocious winds, and very low temps

Did I mention the kitchen floor last week?  We haven't gotten much further this week but will be working on it again this weekend. I did start to put things away though. When they come to sand and urethane I can pick it all back up again... I can't have the kitchen all torn up like that -it was making me crazy. I love the way the sunlight comes in through the windows. We can see the ocean from the kitchen I often watch the sunrise while I drink my morning coffee and the moon rising over the Atlantic at night. Oh...and did I mention Verne? He's found his toes and I think he likes them. I'm going to get this image put on a canvas. I will give it to my daughter as a mother's day present. It was sunny quite a bit last week though we are expecting snow and frigid temps this week.... Tuck has taken advantage of the warmth  that streams in through the windows for a bit of a cat nap.

The best part of my week was getting to see Verne! He's getting so big and cute and playful! ~~~ We've been tearing up the kitchen floor...  Oh dear Lord what did we get ourselves into!! My fridge is in the middle of the room and everything else is well....I don't even know where it is.  But it's gonna look so good when it's done! ~~~ My mum is feeling better. She's able to get herself up and down the stairs now although it isn't easy and once she's up she stays up She's leaving for Florida soon to visit her sister and I think that when she comes back she will be much, much better. ~~~  The 28th was the one year anniversary of the death of my step-daughter sadness, sadness, sadness The weather was so nice last week. Bonnie was able to get Verne out for a walk to the playground As you can see, the swings were a big hit! willy nilly friday photo friday

I've had a hard week. It's been terribly sad and stressful and all the things that I have put off have caught up with me all at once and... we are in the midst of pulling apart our kitchen floor so I can't even sit at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee  and cry about it all. Yesterday, after taking care of a catastrophe of my own making I had some time to visit with my grandson Verne and his mummy and daddy He was so happy and sweet and talkative He made me feel like every little thing was going to be all right.  Happy Thursday! Pizza day at the family center where I work! It's a pretty big deal! Share your cup Thursday Little things Thursday The charm of home

H is for...... heavy yesterday was the one year anniversary of the day my step-daughter died of a heroin overdose in her apartment. Today is the one year anniversary of the day I found out she was dead. She was 22. The drugs she did were laced with fentanyl. Not that it really matters. She is still dead and all the air is filled with heavy sorrow. ABC Wednesday
