7 July

We walked through the golf course on Monday night

to see the fireworks over the Atlantic ocean.

We were perched up on the rocks of the jetty

so we could see them right over our heads

but as we walked back home there were plenty of families

set up on blankets on the grass of the golf course

Happy Birthday America!

This is Marblehead, MA (USA)
where I grew up

My mum lives there still and it is only a few towns away from where I live now

I spent the weekend at my mum's house with my sister

who was visiting.

As I waited for the bus this morning little 2 year old Mila

drove by with her mother and grandmother

on the way to her last chemo treatment in Boston.

Neighbors and friends came out to line the roads with balloons

and home made signs to send her off.

Three police cars with lights going escorted her off island

and the firetrucks had their ladders extended over the causeway

as her car passed under.

Even the town trucks were parked along side.

This rather tiny sort-of island is a pretty sweet place to live

HERE is a link to the story

It's been so foggy of late here on our rather tiny island

that the fog horns have been sounding.

I absolutely love that sound

My desk is one of my favorite places in the house
