Joe and I went to my family reunion in Yorktown, NY this past weekend.
My grandmother had 4 siblings and each one of those 5 original families
had a different color t-shirt. The shirt was designed by a family member.
We had about 130 people!
This is the Keevers branch of the original 5 all in our grey shirts
All of her grandchildren and two of her daughters (my aunt passed away last year)
My mother and her remaining sister -into their 80s now and still going strong
They are beautiful inside and out.
We stayed, for the weekend, in an air B&B about half way there.
It was a beautiful old place that had been a working dairy farm and creamery until 1942.
It was well lived in but very nice just the same.
There was about 4 acres of property and a beautiful meadow we walked out to of an evening.
My niece captured a nice picture of Joe and I sitting in the shade.
Looks like a great reunion. There is nothing nicer than family been together, a wonderful celebration.ReplyDelete
It sounds like you had a wonderful time and the place you stayed in is just stunning.ReplyDelete
Have a great weekend
This looks like a fabulous weekend and that is a lovely picture of you and your mum. The B&B looks very nice too and very special to see the deer. Have a lovely weekend xxReplyDelete
You are surrounded by beauty, especially your mother and aunt. We so often dread aging but look at them, still beautiful and vibrant. Lovely!ReplyDelete
What a wonderful gathering! It looks like the weather cooperated and the people were happy to be together.ReplyDelete
How wonderful it must have been to see so many members of your own family and extended family. It is quite something to keep up with them all I imagine so a reunion is a great idea. Thank you for joining in with Five On Friday. I hope you have a fun weekend! xxReplyDelete
Wow, that's quite a big family! And how fun it must have been. Your Mom and her sister look great, I hope to be doing half so well when I'm that age.ReplyDelete
Whey a wonderful wonderful thing to have done and such a great idea with the t shirtsReplyDelete
What a great reunion. My hubby comes from a large family but sadly his parents and most of their siblings have now passed away. But in a few years with great grandchildren now coming along we could have quite a large crowd starting with our generation. I hope I look as good as your Mum if I reach that age.ReplyDelete
Five branches of your family with each branch identified by a specific color was a brilliant idea! I was born in Lawrence, MA, and lived in Andover, MA, for four years before my family moved to Missouri for my dad's work. Several times while I was growing up we had family reunions at my aunt and uncle's, Nason Stone House Farm, in West Boxford, MA. Wearing color coded t-shirts would have been helpful! At the age of 95, I have a dear uncle, who lives in Sandwich, MA. He is the last member of his generation in our family who is still living, and also is beautiful inside and out.ReplyDelete
What a neat idea to have each family branch in a different color. Looks like a wonderful time!ReplyDelete
How fun! I have actually never been to a family reunion like that. All my relatives are back in Hungary and I've only seen the majority of them once in my life. Happy 4th of July.ReplyDelete
