the good We were at a family reunion in New York over the weekend  and my niece got a great picture of Joe and I. the fun seeing people we hadn't seen in decades...or ever,  and seeing people we hadn't seen in a year or so. There were 5 original siblings in my grandmother's family They are all long gone now 130 family members showed up to honor them  each family got a different coloured t-shirt but we all had the same design. It was a lot of fun! the random We opened with a prayer/blessing for those who have gone beyond.... calling out the names of our loved ones that we miss  and, of course the pipes... Amazing Grace for our loved ones gone beyond but with us in spirit and we called out their names  then "A Nation Once Again" with the older generation singing along -which brought a tear to my eye finishing up with America, the Beautiful and we all sang along to that

the good Last year I helped my landlord plant some flowers in the back yard. He loved to sit in his  apartment on the third floor and watch the flowers blooming and the people on the beach. He died at the beginning of autumn. He was rather old and quite sick. This year I noticed that the lilies are in bloom again. I love that kind of stuff. ~ the fun The weekend was full of glorious summer weather. The temps were fair but the wind was still a bit chill so we played frisbee on the beach of an evening. the random Happy Father's Day to my sweet man Mosaic Monday The good, the random, the fun sharing his beauty Monday musings Monday mellow yellow making your home sing

thursday morning at the bus stop bunnies in the clover Monday I was on the shores of Lake Champlane at the In-bloom conference It was held at Shelburne Farms which is absolutely stunning and beautiful.  It was about getting pre-schoolers out into the woods and the natural world.  Two of my very favorite things....children and outside! Happy Headphones.... even the headphones were happy when the boys put them down and went outside to play! Daisies in the dune grass Last year the town planted lots of dune grass along the beach side. This year there are daisies interspersed.   So pretty. The sunsets this past week or so have been spectacular. I sit on the porch with a cup of tea or a glass of wine at end of day and watch the evening settle in. WE ARE GROOT In the movie Guardians of the Galaxy there is a character named Groot. He is a tree/root. Throughout the movie he tries to make all the characters get along with one another... they all come from different planets and places and ways of thinking and he says "I am groot." toward the end of the movie he gives his life to save his friends by wrapping them in his root/vine/branches and tells them "We are Groot" Which is what I believe We are the ones with the keys to saving the universe. We are the guardians of the galaxy. We are ultimately the carriers of what happens here. What happens to one of us happens to all of us.  We are groot. t ~ ~ ~ Galations 5:13-14 For you were called o freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another. spiritual Sundays Sundays at home Scripture and a snapshot

IN BOOM On Monday I am headed to the in-bloom conference in Vermont! I am so excited about being able to attend.  ~ We spent some time with my husband's mother and step-father on Wednesday evening. They were up from Florida and spent a night visiting with her sister. I had to work so I met them after work. I took the prettiest train ride from Boston to Manchester-by-the-Sea where his aunt lives.  ~ I am so fortunate to have such a great co-teacher. I started my job in March and she has been so kind and supportive to me. I really love working with her.  ~ The weather has been pretty of late. It hasn't been quite as warm as one could wish and there's been some rain...but it's been so nice to be able to get out doors and walk through the wild.  ~ I love where I live. Flume take a chance So you feel all your powers unfold Stretching your big wings over waters turning gold So tell your story, baby, don’t give up Just let all it go out, the quiet wishing’s not loud enough Will you be the one to take a chance? Have demands, spill your heart Will you be the one to take a stand Make the girls dance Spill your thoughts Will you be the one to take a chance? Have demands, spill your heart Will you be the one to take a stand Make the girls dance Spill your thoughts, will you? this is not my usual style of music....in fact I really only like the vocal and lyric parts. The music is too techno for me. It made me think of my step-daughter, Ashley, who passed away in February. She was so full of life. She was a girl who took all the chances and spilled her heart and had demands....and she would encourage any one else to do the same. I still can't fathom that she will never walk this earth again

lily of the valley in shady glens tucked under green undergrowth trees leafed out in green forest floor coming alive with  tiny wonderlands ~ I got the flag hung up for Memorial day. I love to see it hanging from our porch as I walk home from Dog Beach. Joe's mother and step-father came for a visit on Wednesday night. We had the boys with us so a grand time was had by all. ~ waiting for the bus ~ My beautiful daughter Hannah came to visit last night. We went out for a pizza to celebrate her birthday, which was on Monday. My favorite part of the night though was chatting with her. It was just she and I and we got to talk for a long time and we never really get to do that. When they get older we see them on holidays, or we go out to lunch, but we never get to just hang out with them one on one. It was wonderful.  Friday fave fives skywatch friday faith and fellowship Friday my town shoo

U is for underway walking the beach of an evening I come upon the treasures left behind.... our house is across the street from Short beach.... i love to watch the families traipse home at the end of a sunny afternoon they skip across Memorial park and cut through the path in the wood or roll their beach carts to the gravel parking area  pack up the babies and grab the old ladies.... at twilight i come upon the things their little fingers left behind when they were called homeward I feel as if I've stumbled across some sacred archeological dig where childhood was suddenly interrupted  leaving all its tools behind and time stood still makeshift boats set sail at even tide and piles of sandy seashells roll along in the approaching surf ABC Wednesday wordless Wednesday Watery songlines  Wake up Wednesday Women with intention
