at New Year's morning
2015 has been a banner year for loss of those we loved and cared about.
I don't know if it is because Joe and I are over 50 now
and it is the natural progression of things....
or if 2015 was just a very difficult year to make it through...
We have lost a few who had lived long enough to be ready to say goodbye
and we have lost a few who were sick enough to be ready to say goodbye
we've lost some in mid-life who died of hard living and mis-adventure...
we have lost those that were too young to be taken from us...
and one that hadn't even had a chance to begin...
these seem the saddest of all.
I find that the older I get the more poignant the lyrics:
We have lost a few who had lived long enough to be ready to say goodbye
and we have lost a few who were sick enough to be ready to say goodbye
we've lost some in mid-life who died of hard living and mis-adventure...
we have lost those that were too young to be taken from us...
and one that hadn't even had a chance to begin...
these seem the saddest of all.
I find that the older I get the more poignant the lyrics:
Yes, yes. It's been such a tough one, friend ...
ReplyDeleteGod weeps with us even as He offers hope.
Hugs.
It's hard loosing people you love and care about, and I don't know if it's just life as they say, or really something that happens like scheduled. I wish you lots of strength and happines in the new year!

ReplyDeletebeen there
bless you and may you find comfort in life for your losses
Hope the New Year will be a happier one filled with additions, not losses.
ReplyDeleteHere's to a year of only joy and happiness!
ReplyDeleteLoving well grieves deeply. May there be some solace in the gifts of those connections. They would be honored to know that each of them is carried tenderly in your heart.
ReplyDeleteSo true.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sorry for all the sad losses.
May your 2016 be a year of gain!
