100 acorns
scattered acorns
carried home in the pockets of my skirts
we have been watching the waves crash against the cliffs of little Nahant
it's been stormy here on our rather tiny island
and will be stormier still over the weekend
piles of acorns on the bureau
hold me over till I can get outside and walk the wood again
scrambling over the rocks on the path to the beach
with the wind against my cheeks and salty sea spray on my lips
with the wind against my cheeks and salty sea spray on my lips
wet sand clinging to my wellies
as I toss another pile of treasures onto the table
as I toss another pile of treasures onto the table
It's that wonderful time of the year. Mother nature prepares her family for the riggers of winter and we are reminded we must prepare too. She even lets us participate! Have a wonderful weekend! Cathy
