10 July

the zinnia are in bloom

at the community garden

~
last week we went to a concert in the old park on the harbor

where Joe and I had whiled away summer afternoons

when we were young

-way back in the '70s-
we sat with old friends on a faded quilt

we laughed about the good old days

and how crazy we used to be

and how crazy we still are

those boys ran about climbing rocks and

playing ball with the other kids in the park

just like we used to do

~

summer time

and the livin's easy
~~~
the neighbors walk past our porch on the way to the beach in the evenings singing
down the street some one is listening to
"I see a bad moon a-rising, I see trouble on the way..."
the notes float above the houses
and through the open windows
and down the windy sidewalk
and all the people sing along in the late light of early evening
~
I held my first ever linky meme party last Tuesday
and had people join!
I wasn't expecting so many attendees
and was very happy and thankful
I really like the connection
i get with blogging
even if i may never meet any of you in real life
i still feel a bond
and i love being able to share a part of my day here
and to share in a part of your days as well.
~~~

I would like to extend an open invitation to join me

for my first ever link-up meme

Tuesday Afternoon

your post can be about anything that gives one pause

to enjoy the simple beauty of

Tuesday Afternoon

I look forward to seeing you
