For the life of me, I cannot remember the name of this plant. I even called me mum, the expert in all things flowery, and she couldn't get it either of course, something could have been lost in the translation over the phone, periwinkle-blue-purple-ish anual that looks sort of like a tansy but isn't  and is usually very short but sometimes can be taller.... I don't know why she couldn't pop it right off the top of her head  ;) feel free to mention its name in the comments....please it looks quite pretty - growing by the sea in the Swampscott town commons ~ It's been beastly hot and humid here...hardly manage to get outside for walking at all yesterday morning I went to the beach to sit at the edge of the shore I saw a sort of older father there with his little son, who was really just a toddler the waves were rather large and a bit rough coming in and the boy  was getting knocked about some even th

last night Joe and I packed up the lawn chairs  and drove on into town to check out the Swampscott by the sea summer concert series We listened to a great local bluegrass band, sat next to a sweet older couple and watched the little children run around and dance about all over boys chasing girls - girls chasing boys frisbee games, picnic dinners and a small group of boys riding their bicycles around and around the park all to a backdrop of the beautiful Atlantic ocean It was killer-hot out  but the sun set and a bit of a sea breeze kicked in as we turned to go home the full blue moon was rising over the beach blessed by a beautiful evening

the good this is a plaque on a wooden bench in Marjoram park which overlooks the Atlantic ocean  and the Boston skyline the random  there are big jars of sea-glass all over my house i like the way the sunlight splinters through them on the windowsills the Grand Pram was on Saturday a race in a snub-nosed rowboat (a pram) around a lobster boat a Narragansett beer is tossed to you from the lobster boat and you must catch it and return to shore with it (Narragansett is the beer they drank in the movie Jaws) SO MUCH FUN!! there are races for the little kid in prams and kayaks (they don't have to catch a beer) a race for the Nahant Sailing Program (which the event is a fundraiser for) a stand up paddle race and the final event (where the beer is) the Grand Pram itself! everyone must wear a life-vest (PFD) and the harbormaster/coast guard boat is in the water just in case

the first day the boys went to the park and rec camp Jack wore a t-shirt that said "Selfie" from then on that was his nick-name at camp rows the Nahant Grand Pram 25 July, 2015 notice the can of beer mid-air rules *you must be in a pram -it can be homemade (a flat-bottomed, snub-nosed boat used as a fishing vessel or tender for larger vessels) *you must row around the lobster boat *you must catch the can of Narragansett beer that is tossed to you from the lobster boat *you must bring the beer can back to shore *two people per pram *all aboard must be wearing a life-vest all of this supports the Nahant sailing program and the Harbormaster's boat is out there as well in case it is needed there are 5 or 6 races: little kids, stand-up paddles, kayaks, Nahant sailing program kids, and the final event -the grand pram where the winner get's to take home the official grand pram oar ~ till the following year one

All in the Downs the fleet was moor'd... when black-eyed Susan came aboard Black-eyed susan's  are blooming about one of my very favorite flowers ~  another one of my favorites is kite surfers in my town Nahant is on of only a few places in Massacusetts where kite-surfing is possible we can see them from the living room window sometimes they get as high as 30 feet in the air that is the Boston sky line on the left ~ I rode my bike to the community gardens to get some vegetables for dinner the harvest is quite limited at this time of year but the zinnias are in riotous bloom ~ We had some wicked wet and humid days but then a beautiful ocean breeze came in to cool everything down ~ My mum invited me over for an impromptu dinner she grilled swordfish and asparagus and corn on the cob it was delicious

t ~~~ Let all you do be done in love 1 Corinthians 16:14 "I was answered in spiritual understanding, and it was said: What, do you wish to know your lord's meaning in this thing? Know it well, love was his meaning. Who reveals it to you? Love. What did he reveal to you? Love. Why does he reveal it to you? For Love...So I was taught that love is our lord's meaning." Julian of Norwich I am prone to wander I am prone to wander away from those Christians who are filled with hatred far, far away from them. In the past few months I have started reading my bible again and come back to the revelation that God is love There is absolutely nothing else. I would like to extend an open invitation to join me  for my first ever link-up meme Tuesday Afternoon your post can be about anything that gives one pause to enjoy the simple beauty of  Tuesday Afternoon I look forward to seeing you
