my children are grown now and Joe's boys are much too young to think about graduating but we seem to have a bouquet of graduating teenagers in our lives right now. It's so much fun to see them with such wonder and possibility in their eyes.

A friend is on the other side of a year long intense battle with cancer.
It was such a pleasure to spend some time with her the other day.
I went to a table setting and single flower competition with my mother the other day. It was put on by her gardening club. It was very sweet and old fashioned.
I felt as if I should have worn a pillbox hat and white gloves.
I was the youngest person there....and that doesn't happen too often these days.

the warmer weather has Joe and I out on the porch in the evenings.
Sipping wine with the geraniums in the last of the dying daylight.

We are in the final week of spring. It's been fairly chilly here this year. We've had a few days in the 80s, which is unseasonable but mostly its been in the 60s and 70s.
I'm ready for the summer!
I'm ready for the summer!
We, too, have a friend who was officially cleared recently as on the other side of cancer. It is amazing to be in his presence!
ReplyDeleteWe've been having rain and more rain and lots of humid days, but the evenings have been pleasant and we drink in the coolness.
Your time with your mother this week sounds like a fun time. Glad you were able to accompany her.
Mmmm, I hope your summer is warm and full of these evenings on the porch ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo glad your friend is coming through her cancer fight well and that you could spend time with her.
ReplyDeleteHad to smile about being the youngest person at the garden club and feeling like you should've worn a pillbox hat and white gloves. :-)
Your end-of-day front porch gathering sound relaxing.
Great post! The flowers are very pretty and I like the unusual angle of the shot.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for taking part in Floral Friday Fotos, I hope to see more of your images soon.
