around the corner in my town

~ 1 ~
Memorial day on our rather tiny island is a pretty big deal

the folk get the yards cleaned up

window box flowers planted - lawns mowed to perfection

flags hung

and in the cemetery the boy scouts place a flag at every veteran's grave

in honor and remembrance of their service

Our house is the green one in the grouping of three houses

the big building on the beach is the old coast guard station

we are blessed to live in this beautiful place

bridal bush

is what  i refer to this pretty little plant as

it is used as a sort of hedging around here

The spring time flower is rather small and has a lovely fragrance

We are seeing Joe's mother and her husband today. They are visiting

from out of state; we see them only one or two times a year.

the boys have a half a day at school so we will pick them up

and be able to spend an afternoon together.

I picked up some more bird seed at the beginning of the week.

I wasn't going to because it makes such a mess on the porch

Those birds sing so pretty for their supper though...

It's worth the morning sweep.
