daffodils bloom in the dune grasses that line the path to the beach one fall day long ago some one must have planted bulbs in bunches along the way so now pale and bright yellow flowers sway in the sweet ocean breezes ~ I discovered recently that these daffodils were planted back in the 1970s by an old gentleman whose lovely great-granddaughter still lives here on our rather tiny island what a lovely testament to him little things thursday share your cup  friday my town shoot out

the tulips have gone by  and wait by the back door to be planted in the bulb garden the good there is a peacefulness that comes from enjoying the pleasure of one's own company the random a new starbucks has opened just up the way from us i was there this morning to buy some ground coffee the fun of  an afternoon we walk the path through the wood to the playground and use our imaginations to make believe that the old willow trees are castles on the edge of an old sea I heart macro I heart macro two the good, the random, the fun

weather windy and cool on the beach the flag is flying straight out to the north-east and the clouds are forming heavy and dark technology We certainly have come a long ways in the most technologically advanced ways to kill each other since 1775    It would be great if we could slow that down a bit my perspective I love to photograph images from behind I love the stories those images can tell... ~ sometimes I get to feeling I was back in the old days-long ago when we were kids when we were young those were the days of our lives the bad things in life were so few those days are all gone now but one thing is true when i look and i find i still love you ~ Freddy Mercury fresh my man almost as fresh as it gets always has been I think it's in the blood me I may not be as fresh as he is but I do a fair job of keeping up scavenger hunt sunday

an Ordinary day  Concord/Lexington Massachusetts 19 April, 1775 The British soldiers marched into Concord early on the morning of 18 April, 1775 to capture the weapons and munitions that the colonials  had moved there from other places upon hearing word that the British would be raiding    but the Colonial militia held them off in the first battle of the American Revolution at Lexington. The British were not able to capture any munitions that early morning and began their slow march back toward Boston.  Where upon minute men hidden in wood and field began harassing and shooting at the redcoats. All afternoon the shots were heard as the redcoats marched back to Boston. and thus what became known as  the American Revolution began The American minutemen were called that because they could be ready  to fight at a minutes notice. ~ 1 ~ it's been ever so long a  winter we broke our own record for snowfall never having had so much before  just about 111 inches here! ~ 2 ~ daffodils are in bloom  on the sunny hillside over looking town fresh and new  they nod their yellow heads together as if to say my word....did you ever see such a winter ~ 3 ~ there is rain today but tomorrow is to be bright and sunny and warm ~ 4 ~ I hear the birds as I sip my tea in the morning a pair of cardinals that visit the porch and eat the seed that falls  ~ 5 ~ I am getting together with my sweet Bonnie this afternoon which is one of my most favorite things to do.... even in the rain willy nilly friday 5 my town shoot out
