30 October
a pear is a sensual fruit.
ripe and round
and sort of plump
almost voluptuous in shape
soft, but not too soft
beautiful in the light
almost dancing on the kitchen windowsill
fits nicely in the palm of your hand
delicious and slightly fragrant
I once had a pear tree growing outside my bedroom window
I would lie awake in the moonlight and listen to fat pears
dropping onto the grass below us
Wonderful celebration of this creature the Pear!

What a beautiful pear {they are such fun to shoot} and I love your ode to the pear!
ReplyDeleteLovely light. I can here them dropping with you. Simply beautiful. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love pears and I love the idea of the pear tree outside your bedroom window. Were it mine, however, precious few of those pears would hang around long enough to land on the grass. All the best, Bonny
ReplyDeleteYour pear is so lovely. They are so much fun to photograph {and eat!}. And I love your 'ode' to the pear.
ReplyDeleteGreat light on the pear!
ReplyDeleteMy mouth is watering after seeing your image and especially reading your poem! You include all the senses ... feeling the form and the structure of the pear, the scent and looks ... Creative and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWith texture and light and imperfection this simple pear is a work of art!
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful pear is making me hungry. I'll have to check out the local market to see if I can find some of these soon. Nothing tastes quite as lucious as a really good pear. xoxox
ReplyDeleteoh but it's all about biting into it
ReplyDeletelovely post
