30 October

a pear is a sensual fruit.

ripe and round

and sort of plump

almost voluptuous in shape

soft, but not too soft

beautiful in the light

almost dancing on the kitchen windowsill

fits nicely in the palm of your hand

delicious and slightly fragrant

I once had a pear tree growing outside my bedroom window

I would lie awake in the moonlight and listen to fat pears

dropping onto the grass below us

  5. I love pears and I love the idea of the pear tree outside your bedroom window. Were it mine, however, precious few of those pears would hang around long enough to land on the grass. All the best, Bonny

  6. Your pear is so lovely. They are so much fun to photograph {and eat!}. And I love your 'ode' to the pear.

  7. My mouth is watering after seeing your image and especially reading your poem! You include all the senses ... feeling the form and the structure of the pear, the scent and looks ... Creative and beautiful!

  8. With texture and light and imperfection this simple pear is a work of art!

  9. Your beautiful pear is making me hungry. I'll have to check out the local market to see if I can find some of these soon. Nothing tastes quite as lucious as a really good pear. xoxox

Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the gentle night to you.
Moon and stars pour their healing light on you
