what is that there is some debate about what this really is Joey and I believe it is part of an old pirate ship that sunk long ago and washed up on the beach some of us (whose names we won't mention here) believe it is simply part of an old dock either way it makes for really cool photography opportunities the last of the birthday cake...yum on the road this is the old coast guard station across the road from our house top shelf on the shelf bad habit letting the dishes pile up scavenger hunt sunday our beautiful world we are only blossoming indoors so far....

I live in Massachusetts and grew up in a town, in fact once lived in a house, that was  built in the 1600s. This is not the oldest building in town. It is the Old Coast Guard Station.  It was build in 1898 and given to the town by the coast guard in the 1970s. It is used for the American Legion and town events now. It is directly across the  street from our house. The first and third pictures of it are from our porch.   my town shoot out oldest building in town

When she came home  the only sign of him she saw was a 6-pack of Amstel light with  5 bottles in it She saw him through the window sitting on the wreck of the old pirate ship timbers  facing the sun sinking over the Atlantic The green bottle reflecting the last of the dying embers  as he raised it to his mouth She watched him for a minute or two enjoying the view before grabbing a second bottle  and heading out the door  down the path to the beach ~ For the past few days we have been watching a coast guard cutter anchored out in the  harbor of the next town over They tell us it was at the ready in case of emergency during the storm. I've lived here 50 years and never seen such a thing not even during the blizzard of '78 ~ They tell us it is going to be in the 60s this weekend. that is about 45 degrees warmer than it has been this past week. ~ Ben and Jerry's coffee heath bar crunch is in the t

winter will not go down easily the ocean continues to freeze ~ i am on spring break this week i have plans to catch up on paperwork and get outside with my camera   ~ the boys will be with us this weekend we are looking forward to the company of one another ~ I am watching The Fugitive Kind with Marlon Brando  It is the first time I've seen it though I used to watch old movies all the time I love the way that old film looks our movies have become so dumb Of course this movie is filled with sex and violence but there is a plot and some character development What we miss when we remove those things ~ "Every right implies a responsibility, every opportunity an obligation, every possession a duty." john d rockerfeller random 5 friday my town shoot out

silver maples grew in rows outside and the leaves blew in the wind catching the light here and there she stood in the sunny kitchen window watching them. She was wearing the hand me down cotton dress her sister had worn last summer but  it was jelly stained now from the doughnuts they had baked. Who does that anyway? Wasn't there a freakin' doughnut shop on every corner around here? Lately she had been thinking about what a long, strange trip it had all been... but sometimes in life you've got to celebrate the misses. the sunday whirl
