these waves lap at a bucolic shoreline
when water is so calm it looks like an alternate universe

I sometimes I think i see my former self
staring back from the other side of the sound
I do not miss that girl
who struggled through such still waters to see her own potential

I tiptoe to the edge
but find no opening
I had the good sense to close that door long ago

what this tide brings to one side it takes away from the other
and vice versa

I am in balance of that synergy

  9. Great poem! I am glad you find yourself at a more odoriferous stage of your life where you have no refrets about who you used to be. Some doors need to be closed so that others can be opened.

  11. Beautiful...looking into the waves, I think, one can see many different things. The waves and the clouds are similar in that way...both evoke different images in one's mind.

  17. Introspective. Finding balance in synergy is a great accomplishment. I liked the thought of tide bringing something to this side, taking away from the other. Well-penned.

Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the gentle night to you.
