their kitchen window frames the view of venus as it floats in the early morning sky

a trickster in the mind's eye

it courts them with  tales of bravery

it leads them to believe that they will be supported

safe from the virus

as it wages it's war against this party

it will be much too late by the time they realize that they have failed


  1. We look to the stars for comfort and reassurance as the world crumbles around us. Yet they still beckon enticingly.

  2. I cannot comment on your verse this morning, I've copied the words and am going to try and little verse myself but if I were to read your wonderful weave I'd be influenced so I need to return later today :-), you are inspiring.

  3. We all under influence of stars and planets...they can trick us...so the best way I guess to count on your own support :) ~ smart use of words!

  4. beautiful (I couldn't get anything to work, need lots more practise if one can learn to write poetry) and so interesting now to see what you created with the group of words, bravo really!!

  5. Oh that last sentence leaves me a little nervous!
