17 December

every year they come out

one by one

her time worn hands gently unwrapping the faded tissue paper

little fingers hastily looking through the old box of glittery treasures

just to find their favorite one to hang on a tree

in the exact right spot

~

let the storm blow as it will beyond these windows

the icy atlantic crashes against our rather tiny island

the snowy winds blast against our cozy home

all is well this night as we make memories

have yourself a merry little christmas
let your heart be light
from now on
our troubles will be out of sight

Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the gentle night to you.
Moon and stars pour their healing light on you
