20 August
everywhere i go there are signs....
snippets of conversation overheard at the fish market
children talking amongst themselves about class lists and teachers.
here and there the sumac leaves are turning orange
and aspens drop their yellow leaves on the walkway steps
the nights are cooler now and mornings as well.
I find myself reaching for a sweater while i sip my tea on the porch.
daybreak is later and the evening twilight settles sooner

as i ramble through the gardens it occurs to me
that no one has mentioned any of this to the cosmos
they just keep on blooming and pay no never mind what-ever to the calendar

I love this time of the year and your Cosmos does too.....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot of your Cosmos and let's hope they keep blooming for a while longer.....Changing of the seasons is always refreshing to me with lots of new adventures to think about...
ReplyDeletecomforting isn't it that nature goes on with its seasons. A bit like the waves on the shore, they will keep coming to the shore, no matter what happens in our daily lives. Have a great week, and thank you for stopping by my blog today.
ReplyDeleteI thought the cosmos you mean is the universe/heavens! Then i smiled at myself for realizing it is a flower!

ReplyDeleteI can't wait for those cooler days you're sharing with us. Here, school begins and the temps still soar to the mid 90s for a while. And the morning temps continue to be in the 70s and 80s for now.

ReplyDeleteSo pretty. Yes the flowers never seem to notice the changing of the seasons (until it frosts). So not ready for that yet.
