a spirit of simplicity

I live in a quaint, antique, harbour-side town with my husband

and our cat, Tucker.

We have a kooky, jaberwocky family with children ranging in

ages between 14 and 34 and two vey well loved grandchildren,

some are mine, some are his and some we have sort of

 accumulated along the way.

One big happy family and in our home we:

love each other, play guitars and piano, sing songs, go to school,

spend time in our pajamas, work, cook great food, drink tea and vodka

and sometimes wine, play games together, cry, take walks on the beach,

and the path through the wood, blog, take naps, enjoy the view,

watch the sun rise and set over the Atlantic ocean, play video games

smell the flowers, eat by candlelight, learn, laugh, welcome friends,

read bedtime stories, dream. meditate, pray, forgive, write poetry,

take photographs, share, shine, believe,

and take care of one another.

  1. Sounds like home!

  2. A wonderful story to give thanks for! Aloha

  3. Intrigued by reading about Nahant. Seems like a dream place to me, I seriously thought: "If only we could move there."

  4. Hi Kara,
In 2015 I did the Austen in August reading challenge. I think you did some Austen reading then, too?
I am joining again this year and wanted to give you a heads up in case you were interested. Here is the link: https://roofbeamreader.com/2017/06/15/austen-in-august-year-5-call-for-participants/ ... If I've misremembered, just ignore this. ;)

  5. Enjoying life with "the man of my dreams" is definitely a good thing!

Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the gentle night to you.
Moon and stars pour their healing light on you
