Family Friday
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
On Sunday I walked to church.
There are no services being held but the doors are open for anyone who wants to come in for quiet, individual, reflective prayer.
My mum, my husband, and I were together for Easter dinner. We made a small lamb, potatoes, and asparagus. We also had some strawberry shortcake for dessert.
We missed the rest of our family and friends.
The garden center in town was open and I took a ride over on Saturday.
I picked up some herbs and some lettuces.
It was wonderful to be digging in the dirt while the sun shined! I began work on a small herb garden.
There is still quite a bit more work to be done but it’s too early in the season to plant anything else.

I’ve been trying to be a little more creative with all this extra time on my hands.
I have my coloured pens and pencils out.
I can see the white and yellow pansies from my living room window.
They are in a wooden window box that is situated on a railing just outside my back door.
They are so cheery!

Wow pansies already???? Where did you find those? So pretty!
ReplyDeleteSome of my wildflowers are up and early spring blooms in my front garden, i love Spring. This morning we woke up to a light dusting of snow. I know it will be melted by 9 but still........because NY is still under Pause and we aren't supposed to do unnecessary shopping, i haven't been able to go to the flower shop and get my flowers for the deck pots yet.
I love adult coloring books and do those while attending our online agency meetings or school site meetings, it's fun!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend,
What cheery pansies! And your garden plot is looking promising.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday,

That's wonderful that the church remains open for prayer. Your Easter sounds nice. We were just talking about lamb. I've never had or cooked it--I don't think I have ever even seen it in stores. How nice that your community has a garden center. The pansies are cheery.
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are deinitely cheerful. Your Easter dinner sounded tasty. It must be good to be able to enter your church. Ours are closed but services are being streamed. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeletePansies are just the happiest flowers! What a sweet view.
ReplyDeleteI love your herb garden. Isn't gardening a serene and pleasant pastime?
Your Easter dinner looks yummy. I'm glad you had your mom there with you.
What a lovely splash of color those pansies are! I am not a gardener in any sense but I would like to plant some fresh herbs this year. Unfortunately your first two pictures are not coming through for me. You've reminded me I have an adult coloring book around here somewhere. I may just have to go look for it.
