Diary of home

I am mindful of the silence and the stillness in the air.
Though I am sure that hospitals are grim and turbulent those of us who remain at home
find ourselves in a world that is strange and secluded.
A world that has changed so swiftly that we hardly know how to cope.

As for me there are tulips on the kitchen table
in the grey light from oyster-coloured skies
I am basking in their simplicity in these extraordinary days.

Yes, for sure, it's the simplest joys and tasks and routines that God uses to keep us grounded. There's always another meal to make, another dish to wash, another load of laundry to fold. And that's a blessing.
