Whist

is rather what my blog has been these last few weeks of the year.

I was in a car accident (our car was totaled) in mid-December.

No one was hurt but we have been car-less for almost a month now

and we live in a place where being car-less simply doesn't work.

We've had to leave quite early in the morning as our commute time

via Uber, via bus, via train takes twice as long!

We should have a car by the end of next week....yay!

It has all left little time for blogging

so I give you rather a conglomeration of  memories from the past two weeks or so.

My grandson got a drum set for Christmas.

He loved it!

I'm not sure if his parents will feel the same way by next month.

My husband (Verne calls him Hey-Joe)

got to meet little Abigail Rose for the first time on Christmas day.

These past few weeks there's been a busker at the Government center green line level

who sounds pretty good.

There has also been one on the blue line level

who sounds absolutely horrible!

I wait on the blue line level....

but I wish I was going someplace green.

We didn't have a white Christmas this year but we did get some snow flurries on Christmas Eve.

I love our little kitchen table.

It is so cheery to see with a milk-white vase of Christmas flowers.

  1. Sorry to hear about your accident. I do hope you get a car back soon. We're fortunate to live in the city so we can easily manage without one but I wouldn't give our up. I'm sure the drum kit was very well received lol. Our son was a drummer but we never had a proper kit at home. Happy New Year.

  2. Happy New Year to you and yours!
We are down to one car right now as our old second car was hit in an accident in November. Fortunately, so far we have been able to adjust our schedules. Couldn't do without any car. I hope you are able to find a good replacement car soon!
That photo of little Abigail Rose is so precious!

  3. I love your little kitchen table with the milk white vase of flowers! So cheery and homey!

I smiled as you wrote of wishing you were near the green line busker! Sometimes we have to hear the not-so-good music; but it builds appreciation for the good.

Hope you enjoy new wheels soon!

  5. Happy new year! sorry to hear about your car but thankfully you live in an area where there are many good mass (no pun intended) transit options!!

Your grandson looks adorable. Is Abigail his new little sister?? I'm sorry I haven't been keeping up on blogging...that's gonna change after this weekend!

  7. I am so sorry to hear about your accident. Praise God no one was hurt. I hope you get a car pretty soon. Welcome to my world. All three of my kids and my husband are drummers. Not a day goes by that someone is not playing the drums, lol.
