On my mind
The beauty of Autumn and the family gathering together for the holiday season
What’s going on outdoors?
It's bright and windy. A beautiful Autumn day.
From the kitchen
Tuscan beans with fresh sage on the back burner.
The house smells wonderful.
Thanks and praises
I am thankful for our home and the time we have to be together.
Joys and sorrows
A dear old family friend has just lost her 12 year old daughter
to an inoperable brain tumor.
It's hard to find any joy after that except that I will be meeting my mum
at church in a little bit and God will find a way.
What I’m wearing
a pair of heather brown smart wood tights and an autumn coloured tunic/dress.
What I’m creating
a harmonious home
I am hoping
that Thanksgiving will be filled with family
I am reading
mostly the bible
These are a few of my favorite things
the smell of leaves and the way they dance in the sunlight as they fall
Plans for this week
I have taken Wednesday off to attend the funeral.
I'm not looking forward to it.
Around the house
Things look pretty. I have set electric candles in some of the windows.
It was stormy all day yesterday and they looked so pretty.
I will turn them off today though and won't light them again till Thanksgiving.
Lessons
slow down…slow down….slow down
Prayers
for my dear friend's family as they stumble through the loss of their daughter
A picture is worth a thousand words
Beautiful leaves! I have been praying for the mom. And being right around the holidays is even worse for her.
ReplyDeleteSo grateful fall is here... esp in the south where it's been so hot all summer. Beautiful leaves and a good post to remind me to do some reflecting too. thanks!
ReplyDeleteoh how tragic! I will pray for her parents and for all of you as you grieve the loss of this little girl.
ReplyDeleteYour leaves are very pretty.
i love autumn and candles in the windows!!
