rhythm of a day
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
t
so teach us to number our days
that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom

so teach us to number our days
that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom
MONDAY
Monday is purple day
Cleaning bedrooms day
washing linens, sweeping the floors, and dusting old wooden bureaus
Mondays are making soup days
jasmine days
Mondays are quietness and calm and contemplation
Mondays are fresh starts
t
this is the day that the Lord has made
let us rejoice and be glad in it
TUESDAY
is red day
right deed day
Cleaning kitchen day...
washing old oaken floors and
scrubbing the back of the refrigerator
a bar of clove scented soap at the sink
and a casserole bubbling away in the oven
t
you make the dawn
and the sunset
shout for joy
WEDNESDAY
is yellow day
right standpoint
scrubbing the bathroom day
shining sinks and shaking out bathmats
windows open to let in the fresh air
walking wild in the elms
asparagus for dinner
and fish with lemon
t
search me O God, and know my heart
try me and know my thoughts:
and see if there be any wicked way in me
and lead me in the way everlasting.
THURSDAY
right striving
is orange and smells like fresh cedar
lay out the crock pot early in the morning
vacuum the floors in the living room
clear off the clutter in the dining room
dust the furniture
fluff the pillows
pet the cat
t
Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
FRIDAY
is green
wild-rose scented goat's milk soap
in my morning shower
water the plants
watch Venus low on the horizon
as we drive home from dinner
if there are chores they are finance chores
and setting affairs in order
t
Open my eyes
that I may see
wonderful things
in your law
SATURDAY
is indigo
deep blue-purple skies at the end of the day
market day and laundry day and all the things that didn't get done day
the scent of myrrh in the diffuser
homemade muffins, fresh fruit, and greens set up for the week
zucchini and a chicken in the oven
SUNDAY
Sabbath day
is a white day
and smells like frankincense
Church in the morning
Sundays are reading under blankets
or stretched out under a shade tree in the park
Nana's white tablecloth
and fresh flowers on the table
early dinner
candles lit
family and friends and laughter and love
holding hands
t
evening, and morning
and at noon,
will I pray,
and cry aloud;
and he shall hear my voice

What a comfy looking photo! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this post! Is this your schedule for every week, or just what you did on the last week? Your bedroom has a light and airy country feel. Your bowls are beautiful. I really like how you have paired each days doings with a matching bible verse.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful week has passed you. I really like the way you described it.
ReplyDeleteOh, I loved this!!! I love the idea of clove scented soap! Awesome recount of our home keeping!!! Thanks for sharing at Home Sweet Home!
