tribulations

t

In the world you will have tribulations, but take heart,

I have overcome the world.

John 16:33

I had a different verse set up this week.

One about a land of milk and honey...but...

I've had a terrible, terrible couple of weeks.

My sister has stage 4 colon cancer in her bones.

Wednesday was the 2nd anniversary of my 23 year old step-daughters death.

Our rent was raised by $300.00 and that is more than we will pay.

It's been doubled in the past 3 years with no improvements.

So we have to move...soon.

I work with a lot of young women who are half my age.

One of them, who is frustrated with her job, singled me out at a mandatory staff meeting

Wednesday night (the night of my step-daughter's anniversary)

and started yelling at me while the entire staff was watching.

The hits just keep on coming....

But, I take comfort in knowing that He has overcome the world.

  4. Oh sister, I am so sorry for your difficult recent days. Truly we are blessed that we know this is temporary. We are just passing through and the best is yet to come. This is what I tell myself in the face of disgust and regret. Hugs sister.

  5. So sorry to hear of your tribulations. One challenge can be enough to deal with, but so many at once is overwhelming. I am glad you have your faith as your foundation; can you imagine how you might feel if you didn't have God at your back? I will keep you in my prayers!

  6. When we go through these times of relentless attack it's hard to understand why and to keep on going. I pray that God will strengthen, encourage, bless, provide for and protect you during this time.

  7. Even though, we know as Christians that God is always with us, the human still has a heart that breaks in these kinds of times. I pray that God will give you the peace that only he can give, and I pray the same for your sister. Prayers that they can eradicate her cancer completely. We know of those that have become cancer free, and I pray that for her. Prayers also for the disgruntled employee. Over the years, I came across some that I thought, why keep working here is you're so unhappy. Maybe she will find her path to being more happy. Sorry that you had to go through that on such a sad and hurtful week with all that you had heavy on your heart. ~hugs~
