Some of you may know that my sweet loving sister
has stage 4 colon cancer in her bones.
She is halfway through a grueling 4-6 month chemo treatment.
It's absolutely devastating to her, to my 83 year old mother,
to her children, and all the other people who love her.
She's a sweet and kind woman whose never tried to do anything but be good.
Monday the doctor told her that the results of her pet/cat scans were good.
The cancer activity has decreased by 50%!

My co-teacher's brother, who was just in his twenties,
passed away the other day from brain cancer.

I have been having a difficult time at work.
People are unkind, and unjust, and filled with malicious gossip.
I've been the target.

Sunday while I was in church an older gentleman passed out in the pew.
We heard his wife call out his name and then a crowd of people, one of whom
was a doctor, gathered around him.
The paramedics were called and he was taken to hospital.

We have been dealing with the after effects of a major coastal storm.
We had three historically high tides batter our coastline all weekend.
My entire street is a major flood zone. Every house except for mine
is standing in about 3 feet of water all around.
They are still pumping as I type this on Wednesday
morning and the flooding happened on Saturday afternoon!
It all stopped at my driveway.

...no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed,
and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgement.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.
Isaiah 54:10
This is the verse that spoke to me this morning
and yesterday this one:
The world will have tribulations, but take heart,
I have overcome the world.

It's as if He lays his hand on my should to say,
look at the world spinning mad and crazy,
and then come to me.
I have the power to hold you, protect you, calm you,
and fill you with peace and love.
and fill you with peace and love.
may you find comfort in solace in God's love even while everything around you is shifting.
ReplyDeletepraying for your sister even as we speak ...
Blessings to you and your entire dear family, esp sis!
ReplyDeleteThose last two lines. Keep saying them, writing them, remembering them...
