Keeping Sabbath
t
My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
For he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
for he who is mighty has done great things for me
and holy is is name.
And his mercy is for those who fear him
from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with his arm;
he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
he has brought down the mighty from their thrones
and exalted those of humble estate;
he has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich he has sent away empty.
He has helped his servant Israel,
in remembrance of his mercy,
as he spoke to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his offspring forever.
Luke 1:47-55
Monday we were told that my sister's colon cancer has reoccurred on her sacrum bone.
She had her original surgery over 6 years ago.
She begins the first of her two week, daily radiation treatments today.
After that she will have chemo every other week for 4 months.
After that she will be on a chemo pill for the rest of her life.
Throughout all of it, we pray unceasingly.
In this season of Advent, I am reminded of who He is...
and of all He can do...even to the most humble of us.

I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. Prayer is powerful. Don't stop believing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Scripture!
ReplyDeleteI'm also sorry to hear about your sister's diagnosis. Perhaps if we pray for her healing, the Lord, who is merciful to those who fear Him, would be so kind as to completely heal her and prove the doctors wrong. It wouldn't be the first time He's done such a thing!
I like your photo 'Believe' that goes with your scripture. God puts many first that sadly we sometimes as humans don't. He is an awesome God and his ways always have a sound plan. My prayer is for the peace that only God can give your sister at this time. Peace that her worry will be minimal, and definitely, we know he does miracles so prayers for complete healing and no mare episodes for cancer return. Prayers for all her family too as I can only imagine the worry each has for her as she faces treatments.
ReplyDeleteHave a Merry Christmas
