The bittersweet vine is so pretty at this time of year. 

It's very invasive but I love the orange and red berries 

and the green leaves which turn to such a pretty yellow.

It wouldn't feel like Autumn without a bit of bittersweet

berries to decorate the house with.






I got to spend some time with Verne and his mama.


 
 

He and I chatted while his mama took a nice long shower.

He told me stories about sucky things and warm milk.



It's not always easy being one week old and sometimes it helps 

to have a Nana you can tell your troubles to.





The weather was sunny and warm, which is quite unusual for October.

We sat in the backyard for a bit so my daughter could get some fresh air

and Verne had his first little picnic lunch.

    i like those berries and what a pretty picture! oh, verne is the cutest...love his sweet expressions! we too had some nice warm weather in the 80's this week and then bam, today down into the 60's! thank you for linking with willy nilly, have a great weekend :)

    What a sweet little guy! So nice you live close enough to have frequent visits with him. Our little grandson is 2 1/2 and a delight but I am already missing those sweet baby snuggles.

    It is so special to be able to be part of "first" things with our grandchildren.
    What a blessing you were to take care of him so his mama could enjoy a long, hot shower.

  ~ ~ ~ Abby and Hopie go to the beach. On Saturday my granddaughter, Abigail, asked if she could come to her Hopie's house all by herself. Of course, I said I would love that! a basket from the farmer's market

  A basket from the farmer's market. When I was a child my mum always had a fruit basket on the kitchen table.  Fruit was always an option if we were hungry at any time during the day. I had the same when my children were young and I noticed while visiting my daughter last week that she had a basket of apples on her table for her children. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree... I tend to put a basket of vegetables on the table as well.  Root veggies mostly since they don't need to be refrigerated.  I think that they look beautiful and why should fruit have all the fun! My favourite part is that everything (even the basket) came from the local farmer's market. It's so important to support local farmers.  ~ ~ ~ A bit of reading material.  I've been collecting books again... I've almost finished Think Indigenous.  My daughter bought it as a gift for me but decided to read it first.
