the good

We were at a family reunion in New York over the weekend
and my niece got a great picture of Joe and I.

the fun

seeing people we hadn't seen in decades...or ever,

and seeing people we hadn't seen in a year or so.

There were 5 original siblings in my grandmother's family

They are all long gone now

130 family members showed up to honor them

each family got a different coloured t-shirt but we all had the same design.

It was a lot of fun!

the random

We opened with a prayer/blessing for those who have gone beyond....

calling out the names of our loved ones that we miss

and, of course the pipes...

Amazing Grace for our loved ones gone beyond but with us in spirit

and we called out their names

then "A Nation Once Again"

with the older generation singing along -which brought a tear to my eye

finishing up with America, the Beautiful

and we all sang along to that

It was very touching and there was nary a dry eye in the crowd

There was a beautiful meadow on the grounds of the air B&B that we stayed at.

Black eyed susan's are my favorite meadow flower at this time of year.

The good, the random, the fun

  2. That is a great idea for a family reunion-t shirts with the same design but different colors for each family. Wonderful shot of you and your husband too.
