Once she stood at this ancient cemetery  and watched the mist crumble away like broken down plaster tawny lichen creeping through cracks in antique gravestones honeysuckle scrambling over stone walls in moments of madness she sees ladies in tasseled dresses and gentlemen in fine hats the spirits of mourners trapped here in the chill of a summer evening in her more lucid moments she understood that there is nothing as diverse as death the sunday whirl

the random Short beach on Saturday I took a photograph and then used an app on my phone to "paint" it.  the good the old coast guard station on this rather tiny island Coast Guard often gets overlooked among the military forces Here, we take them pretty seriously. This building is on the National Treasure list. It was built in 1898. The Coast Guard gave it to the  town of Nahant when they stopped using it years ago. It's now used by the American Legion and  also for special events by the town and private functions.  It's a beautiful building the fun Saturday was almost 90 and the water was warm enough for swimming. The beach had as many people as a mid summer's day blankets spread, chairs at water's edge,  colourful umbrellas, American and armed service flags set up in the sand  It's always fun at the beach 37,000 American flags to honor those that fell for freedom here in the United S

yesterday I took a walk to the Commons during my lunch hour. 37,000 flags had been placed to honor those who have fallen in defense of our freedom. They will be removed before sunset on Memorial Day. It was an amazing sight to see. the weather has been beautiful.  I love being able to get outside and walk with the children at work.  ~ This is the view from the cemetery down over the beach on Memorial day every year on this rather tiny island.  It's one of my very favorite views in the world and I'm looking forward to the parade on Monday so I can see it again. I took this with my camera and used a watercolor app. ~ Monday is my daughter's birthday. Since it's Memorial Day she has plans with friends so we will have to get together one day next week to celebrate. this is one from a few years ago.  ~ Yesterday I walked the beach to the bank and picked up the bus to work

My very, very favorite part of the week was  getting this picture of my grandson!  Isn't he just the cutest thing you ever saw! Due to make his appearance in the world on 2 October.  ~ Joe and I got married a few weeks ago. We didn't have a ceremony.  We went to town hall and did everything right there one Monday morning.  It was exactly as we both wanted it.  ~ I came home last night to beautiful flowers from friends in congratulations on our marriage. The whole house smells heavenly this morning.  It is teacher appreciation month and we have been gifted with so many wonderful things from the parents where I work. I am a teacher in a toddler class and I love them to pieces  but it's hard work! They tire me out and it's so nice to feel the appreciation the parents have. ~ It's beautiful out today! It's bright and sunny  and is expected to get into the mid 70s! and

of a morning at the bus stop I live on a rather tiny island. We are connected to the mainland by a 2 mile causeway. Every morning I wait across the street from my house for the bus  which takes me to the subway stop and into work.  Lately, I've been giving myself a little extra time to walk the beach. It is such a calming and inspiring way to begin the day. Little things Thursday

On May day I walked the woodland path  to where the stream bends and the trail curves around it just there a patch of toadstools has popped up along the edges I gathered some purple bugle flowers and bright yellow dandelions along with some moss and lichen and a pretty little white flower whose name escapes me...
