My commute takes about an hour I take the blue line home and then I take a bus which drops me off just in front of my house I live on a rather tiny island, which is connected to the mainland by a 2 mile causeway One night this week as I got off the bus the driver commented  "you must be so  happy to come home" He couldn't be more accurate. Happy and blessed to be able to live in this beautiful spot.  ~ this is where the bus picks me up in the morning.  I love everything about my new job! ~   During my lunch hour I walk up over Beacon Hill  through Boston Commons and into the public gardens where beautiful tulips are blooming in all sorts of colours. A few weeks ago it was finally warm enough for us to head out and do some beach hopping ~ all over the island ramshackle fences and brush beginning to bloom ~ Friday fave fives Friday my town shoot out soulfood friday

So....yesterday morning I walked the beach just before the bus came to bring me to work I was looking for a little gift from the beyond  a trinket - a tiny treasure to help me feel a connection with by beautiful step-daughter Ashley who passed away on 28 February But....I found nothing...not even a tiny shell and then I saw that some one had placed stones all the way across the top of the temporary barrier. And I remembered the Jewish tradition of placing stones  on the top of gravestones of those we love to say that we were here....and we remember you I had stumbled upon an entire array of connections with Ashley and yes, there is a connection,  and yes, she knows I loved her, that I love her still and that I will never forget her and yes, I know that she will never forget me. Northeastern University has a marine center here on our rather tiny island. They do a honey bee study on the property. I'm not sure if they collect the honey but I sure wish they did.... there are paths of wild roses by the sea cliffs there and the honey would be delicious. won't you come with me and see the beauty of Tuesday Afternoon Your post can be about anything  that feeds your spirit and the family friendly nature of  a spirit of simplicity    Please link to your post and not your entire blog Please comment on at least, the post before you Please post a link back to A Spirit of Simplicity so that others may join   If you choose to follow me I will follow you back I always return comments Peace and Love  Kara

It's so pretty and always means that spring is well under way.... although it has been quite cold still. the fun Joey and I walked all over the island on Saturday. We scrambled over rocks and up the cliffs at the Northeastern University marine center,  we walked across the beaches and down the wood path we walked the neighborhood roads.... we ended up walking almost 3 hours It was so much fun to be out of doors on such a pretty day!  Mosaic Monday The good, the random, the fun sharing his beauty Monday musings Monday mellow yellow making your home sing nature footstep catching light

she was an old lady now rattling around lost and forgotten a shell of who she first had been like a pile of yellow feathers she had found once, in the wood   she was ready at long lost to put her memories to rest so she stretched out her feathered wings  and disappeared from sight through a hole in the sky The Sunday Whirl

the fun all around the island the beaches are just about warm enough for walking. The bus picks me up just across the street which happens to be exactly where the beach is. My plan is to walk the beach in the morning before I get on the bus. the good I am just about over my cold! the random Many years ago an older gentleman planted a bunch of bulbs  along the road onto the village.  Since then they have multiplied over and over  so every spring as we come over the causeway we are greeted by hundreds of cheery yellow daffodils.
