if there were faeries




the path through the wood is littered with toadstools


perhaps a diminutive couple live in this one

Phoebe and Bear

when the nights get cooler they sojourn down

a very tiny path 

to have a bonfire with their neighbors

in the early evening twilight.

Joey and I didn't happen to see any of that while we walked our path

it wasn't quite twilight yet....

but we are quite sure that there are faeries in these toadstools

We think that Bear might be a bit of a gnome, at least in shape,

because that is a rather gnome shaped door in their toadstool home.

I think we have not heard the last of them...

we are looking forward to tales of their adventures in the tiny wood.

    Are you sure Phoebe and Bear are not inside with a glass of wine, having a magic evening, after all if you had such a lovely house why would you ever want to leave?! Looking forward to hearing more about their adventures too!

    I love to think about "little people" too. In fact, we used to call the dewy cobwebs that show up on a summer morning "leprechaun hammocks" and my boys loved thinking that they'd caught the leprechauns before they packed for the day!

    I love spying toadstools while hiking or walking in the woods. I took a few photos of some when we were in New England. I agree, there just has to be fairies residing inside! :) Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  ~ ~ ~ Abby and Hopie go to the beach. On Saturday my granddaughter, Abigail, asked if she could come to her Hopie's house all by herself. Of course, I said I would love that! a basket from the farmer's market

  A basket from the farmer's market. When I was a child my mum always had a fruit basket on the kitchen table.  Fruit was always an option if we were hungry at any time during the day. I had the same when my children were young and I noticed while visiting my daughter last week that she had a basket of apples on her table for her children. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree... I tend to put a basket of vegetables on the table as well.  Root veggies mostly since they don't need to be refrigerated.  I think that they look beautiful and why should fruit have all the fun! My favourite part is that everything (even the basket) came from the local farmer's market. It's so important to support local farmers.  ~ ~ ~ A bit of reading material.  I've been collecting books again... I've almost finished Think Indigenous.  My daughter bought it as a gift for me but decided to read it first.
