Tuesday Afternoon
I give thanks to the waves upholding me
Hail the great winds urging me on
Greet the infinite sea before me
Sing the sky my sailor's song
I was born upon the fathoms
Never harbor or port have I known
The wide universe is the ocean I travel
And the earth is my blue boat home

because this brilliant piece of driftwood
that some beautiful soul
created a magical sailboat from
was once a tree growing
who knows where

mmm ... all creation sings the praises of the Creator and Sustainer.
ReplyDeletePretty shot of the beach and driftwood. I love the poem, very pretty. Have a happy Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteI always wonder the same thing when I come across a piece of driftwood. I love that poem too.
ReplyDeleteI love drift wood in any shape or form. The clever person who created this one must also loved the drift wood. Beautiful in it's simplictiy.

Driftwood is truly a tree. Lovely photo and poem!
ReplyDeletereally liked this post.
ReplyDeleteMy Mother and my sister and I would go and collect driftwood in the woods and she would sand and oil them. We got to sand. Lovely memory that you brought back.. It is hard to get people to visit others in a meme and in some of the larger ones I used to go and visit every post. But after participating in memes for the past 7 years, I think that less people visit than used to as it was once an exciting thing..I still think it is, but that is the feeling I get...Michelle
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about this image. But driftwood says it all. I like the old style of the image :)
