Austen in August
I have decided to participate in Austin August over at roofbeam reader.
I am going to read the novels in the order they were written
Northanger Abbey
Sense and Sensibility
Pride and Prejudice
Mansfield Park
Emma
Persuasion
~
So, today being August, first I will start Northanger Abbey, but not till after tea. I think I will pull out my
old DVD of Becoming Jane Austen as well since I love that movie and it will get me in the
swing of things.
You can't go wrong here! Perfect summer reading. Gentle, happy, books that keep you interested even rereading ....Great idea.
ReplyDeleteI have seen one of the movies based on the books, but always wanted to read them. My reading time is in the fall and winter. I think this year I will start with book one.
ReplyDeleteLove the determination to get through all six! I'm reading the first and last books on your list as well as a couple others. Becoming Jane is a great way to start the reading event! Love that movie.

ReplyDeleteHope you are doing well this afternoon.
I took some time today to look at all of the referrals to my website. I was thrilled to see that so many wonderful visits had come from your site.
I just wanted to express my thanks and let you know that I appreciate you!
18 visits have come as a direct result of your website!
This amazed me, and I thought it might encourage you to know that other people (like me) are benefitting from your ministry.
I pray that God will bless and you and encourage you~
