i love this little tea cup
though i can't quite recall where it came from
when my daughter was just wee
she had a little sun-dress
with a blue and white flowered pattern
that made me think of tea cups
now that she is grown
the tea cups remind me of her
toddling about
in her little tea-cup dress.
~
I rise with the sun
to make the tea
Irish Breakfast in the pot
I leave it to steep
on the counter
and drink it iced with lemon
in the late afternoon

What a beautiful tea cup. Isn't that the way it is...how some things can bring back memories. One of mine is a bright red handkerchief I used to put on my daughter's head before walking to the post office. She was two years old. Now she is 35 with three children of her own, but each time I see a red handkerchief, I remember us walking , in the Autumn morning, up to the mail.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your memory! I am visiting from The Roses of Inspiration Blog hop.
Your teacup reminds me of a few of my own, inherited from tea drinking relatives. I have a wonderful teapot but do not always enjoy the teas that I buy. My favorite so far is from a local shop, The Tea Source, which is called Lemon Solstice. The other, Sencha, tastes just like hot water so I have to keep experimenting!
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute teacup! The Rose Chintz pattern always reminds me of my childhood because my auntie always used it when I was growing up. It always set the prettiest table. I love patterns that bring to mind some lovely memories. Thank you for joining me for tea.

I love the softness of the blue on this cup- so sweet. I need to show my pretty flowery ones I bought at a Christmas bazaar. BTW I like the new look here.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute teacup...it does remind me of a pretty summer dress. Iced tea is perfect this time of year. I quite like Irish Breakfast tea as well. Thanks for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

Your thoughts of your daughter bring wonderful memories of my son as a toddler, also. The cup with the blue blossoms is so pretty. Your iced tea sounds lovely and refreshing. Hope you will take a peek at my celebration post this week. Have a great week!
