22 February

riding my bike makes me happy
and if i can ride it on the beach, or in the wood,
or with the ones I love
that is when I am happiest of all

I remember when she was a toddler
she thought that if she couldn't see me then i couldn't see her

one pear...
I'm such a word-nerd

my man is my just dessert
I must have done something good

to get to spend this time in our lives together

20 February

icicle in the kitchen window
the wind is howling and crashing over our rather tiny island
the wind chill temperatures are down to -14
the kitchen smells like fresh coffee
and the sunrise warms the old wooden floor beneath my feet

i can't help but pause to admire the beauty of
a smallish icicle hanging from the eaves
~ We are absolutely covered in snow here near Boston.
traffic moves at a crawl because the roads are so snow filled
that they are reduced to one lane
and you can just forget about parking
if you'd like to see a few more pictures of our snowy landscape
there are more in the posts above this one
~  the other day I watched as the tractors scooped up snow and dumped it into trucks
which then drove it over to the parking lot and dumped it
then turned around to pick up another load
it looked like a little Tonka truck village
~ When the temperatures get down below zero, as they have been, I tend to turn the
oven on for long slow cooked meats or baking
so, our house is…

19 February

We've had just a little bit of snow
that's a bus stop sign
and it's snowing again

16 February

and in honor of the letter "F"

for abc wednesday

Feckin' snow........

We have had a bit of snow....
over 7 feet and the storms just keep coming
today we have wind chills at almost 30 below 0!

Broad Sound, which is the part of the Atlantic Ocean between our little island
and Boston has frozen over as far as we can see.
Roofs all over the area have been caving in
people have been losing their homes and businesses.
Travel bans have been in affect off and on for the past 3 weeks.
Travel is actually quite dangerous.
This is school vacation week for the children
but schools have been cancelled due to weather
one or two days a week for the past month.
I've never seen anything like it in all my life
and I lived through the infamous
"blizzard of '78"
I'm sure the "winter of 2015"
will be talked about for generations.
we took a ride about the island yesterday when the snow finally stopped
and just to give you some sense of sca…

For me, it is almost impossible to think of humanity without thinking of
John Lennon
he is who I began to learn the concept from
When I saw a video of what i have been calling
the "je suis" people
filling the streets of Paris
and singing Lennon's song, Imagine
i was at once filled with such awe
We are only here for the love
there is nothing else
we must stop looking for it in other humans
and find it in ourselves

Often there are no words
only the essence of word combinations and the cosmic connection
which makes us all one
Noblesse Oblige

One Love

Because the world is round it turns me on
Because the world is round...aaaaaahhhhhh

Because the wind is high it blows my mind
Because the wind is high...aaaaaaaahhhh

Love is all, love is new
Love is all, love is you

Because the sky is blue, it makes me cry
Because the sky is blue...aaaaaaaahhhh

the fun
snowshoeing the woodland path
of an afternoon
the random
I ran out of coffee on Saturday morning
so after my class I took a drive to the market in the square
where I bought a type of coffee beans called "resolution"
they will not be carrying this flavor again till next year
so I am enjoying the last of it On another random note,  we are having a second winter blizzard this morning
the good

This is my driveway
Just before the blizzard Juno ended
It's a good thing it was plowed
And we didn't have to shovel it!

the good, the random, the fun
