relax

every Thanksgiving my mum likes to get

a picture of all her grandchildren around the turkey

we have some great pictures over the  years

now that they are all grown up

this year was a rare occurrence when they were all there

Here they all are relaxing before my mum starts telling them all

to smile and stand up straight

for my hot cocoa....

we had the first snow storm of the season yesterday

when I walked the wood this morning

it seemed as if the light was dancing on each snowy branch

we are expecting a real doozy of a storm

Monday and Tuesday

they are calling for over 20 inches of snow

now, that is some weather...even for New England standards.

    I saw earlier today that the East coast was in for a wallopalooza of a storm. Your snow scene is lovely. I often think the smaller snowfalls are prettier than the gargantuan ones. Be safe, be warm!

    I love your photos and sunlit perspectives. The one of the boy is sweetly backlit. Love the winter scene. We had 8 inches of snow last night and are expecting the next big storm the next day right after you. Blessings, Pam

    All really great, especially precious is looking down while his skates get tied. I like the family photos every year idea too. We do that every Christmas Eve.

    Love the traction of the gathering photo around the turkey and love the sneak peak photo before everyone become concerned in front of the camera. Thought the carnation shot particularly lovely. Stay warm in all that snow x

  ~ ~ ~ Abby and Hopie go to the beach. On Saturday my granddaughter, Abigail, asked if she could come to her Hopie's house all by herself. Of course, I said I would love that! Her older brother, Verne, wanted to go to a friend's house and her younger sister, Natalie, is too young to be away from mum for an overnighter. So...it was me and Abigail for the weekend. She wanted to stay 2 nights! a basket from the farmer's market

  A basket from the farmer's market. When I was a child my mum always had a fruit basket on the kitchen table.  Fruit was always an option if we were hungry at any time during the day. I had the same when my children were young and I noticed while visiting my daughter last week that she had a basket of apples on her table for her children. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree... I tend to put a basket of vegetables on the table as well.  Root veggies mostly since they don't need to be refrigerated.  I think that they look beautiful and why should fruit have all the fun! My favourite part is that everything (even the basket) came from the local farmer's market. It's so important to support local farmers.  ~ ~ ~ A bit of reading material.  I've been collecting books again... I've almost finished Think Indigenous.  My daughter bought it as a gift for me but decided to read it first. She loved it so much it took her a bit to part with it. I am loving it as much as she did and have put it down almost all the way through  because I don't want it to be over.  Macro tex
