You once told me that I had no passions
now I know
that my words hum with magic
While they swarm above the forest floor
And jump from low hanging branches
dancing in the twilight of what
you only dream of
I am a creature that thrives in the approaching storm
You are without
you are without
you are without
Outstanding ... I can so understand the feelings within this poem ... these are beautiful phrases ... love it.
ReplyDeleteCaught me quickly with your opening line:
ReplyDeleteYou once told me that I had no passions
I had heard that whispered before in hurt, to hurt, to defend, to deflect
but your words do hum and swarm and jump and dance.
Very nice. Randy
What is a relationship without passion? Clearly he hadn't read your poetry!
ReplyDeleteYou took the words right out of my mouth. xo Jenny
ReplyDeleteFinding your passion is a magical thing...i love the end lines...powerful...not angry..
ReplyDeleteThis poem hums with magic. It's interesting that the ending is a negative statement, yet feels so affirming. Well done.
ReplyDeleteWell, this sure is lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteThis was a powerful poem, full of self-giving strength. Most of us who create have at some point run into the person (or persons) who seeks to make us feel vulnerable about our gifts, however they're expressed. You captured the perfect comeback to that negativity and did it such a creative way with the words given. In short, I loved it!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, thanks for the visit and the information about the writing below. My friend's child is better:~)
