where i stood

on the edge of temptation

silver

tiny present

in the cupboard

I just realized how much that cream of mushroom soup stands out like a sore thumb.

I don't even eat it. I had to buy it to make that nasty green bean casserole to bring to

my mother's on Thanksgiving. It will sit there till next Thanksgiving.

  1. Oh, I so love the Deep Peace blessing here! One of my faves. I smiled through your poem about the cream of mushroom sticking out like a sore thumb in your wonderful pantry of whole grains. The doughnut is tempting, though!

  2. I love your tiny silver doo dad, and the only thing better than checking out other people's medicine cabinets is their pantrys. I'm intrigued by your Irish oatmeal.

I haven't cared for cream of mushroom soup since Boy Scouts when some of my fellow scouts staged a skit and in the middle of it they interruped with one guy faking vomit. They used cream of mushroom soup and the other two guys pulled out spoons and started eating the soup. That caused the audience to start gagging.

I don't know, that might be TMI, but there it is.

    Great post!

  3. I love your cupboard. I'll have to look for Irish Oatmeal. The tiny picture shot is really nice. I don't eat a lot of sweets, but the smell of the fresh donuts in the convenience stores is hard to resist, then my husband says, "Do you want one, too?" and I'm a goner!

  4. I've seen this temptation before and it is still tempting. Your photo effects are truly lovely. You keep a very tidy provision cupboard :-)-give the can of soup to the Christmas funder why not, I've packed up a few things I bought for recipes I'll never do again with the expiration dates being 2015 someone else can either love or hate them.

  6. Your mushroom soup cracked me up. The things we do for love! (Or obligation?) I see you have Lawry's, though -- that's one of my favorite seasonings. I'm visiting from Scavenger Hunt Sunday. By the way...did you hold out against that temptation? I don't think I could have.

  7. As a student I would use cream of mushroom to make a chicken supreme, add some peas and rice and it was not so bad. I might even try that tonight for old times sake.
