22 September
she peered into the reflective pool
stories of her youth
bubbled up from beneath the murky water
long ago she had exiled those spirits
now she followed the piles of clues
to who she used to be
one
two
three
one mustn't be rash
when dealing with secrets
she had already clawed her way out of that cradle
so she grabbed the apple in her teeth
and took a big crispy bite
Yum! I love the one, two, three, and the choice she makes to revisit youth's stories.
ReplyDeleteha. i like the slight toward temptation there in the end...the taking a bite of the apple...def got to be careful handling the secrets....
ReplyDeleteReading this was a delight - first I resonated with burying stories of her youth in murky water, and then the big crispy bite of apple made me smile.
ReplyDeleteI always thought Eve had a rough deal. I am glad you didn't have her nibble at the apple tentatively. I loved the picture you painted.
ReplyDeleteNice. I like the piles of clues . . . one two three. Thanks for sharing your talent.
ReplyDeleteshe had already clawed her way out of that cradle
ReplyDeleteso she grabbed the apple in her teeth
and took a big crispy bite
She took them by the horns and solved her problems by herself. Many do this when they put their heart and soul to it. Nicely!
Hank
a delicious end. :D
ReplyDeleteOh, I quite like the part about following the piles of clues to who she used to be. I can relate.
ReplyDeleteExcellent!
